This is a good news! Researchers from Stanford University created lithium-ion batteries with built-in fire extinguishers. Lithium-ion batteries have the tendency to catch fire easily and blow up all phones and toys having lithium-ion batteries.
They have added a component called “Triphenyl Phosphate” which is commonly used as a flame retardant for various electronics. This component will released when the temperature of the battery reaches 150° C.
This method can stop batteries from burning up within 0.4 seconds
